From the Collection of James McGlothlin, Louisburg, North Carolina

Rietveld (Dutch, 1888-1964), an accomplished architect and designer was a founder of the De Stijl movement and heavily involved with the Bauhaus school. Designed for the De Ligt family in Katwijk aan Zee for which Rietveld designed two dining room chairs.

The consignor, James McGlothlin (contemporary American architect), has carefully hand built some of Rietveld's most iconic designs.
