John Rosenthal is a leading North Carolina photographer. His work has been exhibited in a number of significant institutions and galleries, including the North Carolina Museum of Art; Nasher Museum of Art; Greenhill Center for North Carolina Art; University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art; Somerhill Gallery; Frank Gallery; and others. In addition to photography, Rosenthal has published many books on photography. Most recently, he completed a memoir titled Searching for Amylu Danzer (2021).
