London, dated 1844, made from hand-colored, engraved gores over a wood form, iron pins at poles, resting within matching turned Georgian mahogany cases with domed lids, each globe with signed cartouche.
Celestial cartouche: "MALBY'S / Celestial Globe / Shewing the Principal / STARS of each Constellation. / HOUGHTON ST. LONDON. / March 1st 1844."
Terrestrial cartouche: "MALBY'S / Terrestrial Globe / Compiled from / the GLOBES of the / SOCIETY FOR THE DIFF[USION]. /OF USEF[UL] KNOWLEDGE / Houghton St. London. / March 1st 1844."
