The maker's label on the underside of the lid, this one dated 1803; within is a balance scale with steel beam and brass pans plus eighteen (18) weights stamped
for such popular European coins as the Spanish pistole, the French Louis d'Or, and the Dutch guilder; set housed in a maple case (1 x 7-1/4 x 3-1/2 in.).
