Circa 1900, oak, brass and with upholstered seat, the base features carved rosettes and barley twist legs, scale and weight hook are engraved with maker's name. The purpose of the chair was to ensure that no jockey was less than the minimum weight. Included with the lot is a set of (4) brass weights, marked in 2,4, and 8 Stone to top, and 23, 56, and 112 lb. to side.
