Meiji period (1868-1912), very well cast bronze elephant sculptures, the inside of the ears with reddish brown patinated, includes a smaller elephant with three character maker's seal to its underside belly and a larger elephant, both with ivory tusks, one tusk can be removed on smaller elephant, the other appears glued to sculpture, the larger elephant has two ivory tusks, both can be removed.
