Late 19th century-early 20th century, made for the naturalist hobbyist, including a French brass "Universel" type microscope, unsigned (2 1/8 in.); (2) English pocket microscopes, brass cylindrical forms, one presented within a turned burlwood case, unsigned (3 in. case); and (2) specimen magnifiers in metal with glass case, the shorter marked "Modele Depose" to underside (1 1/2 in.), the taller unmarked with rotating specimen curiosities to interior (2 5/8 in.). Included with the lot is an antique pair of forceps and portable wood cased set of approximately 60 naturalist biological specimen slides (3 x 8 1/4 x 4 1/4 in. case).
