Circa 1940, carved and painted wood, iron nail bill, mounted on wood base, signed Edgar Burke on bottom of the base.

Length 11.5 in.

Dr. Edgar Burke was a frequent visitor to the shores of North Carolina and particularly enjoyed hunting on Ocracoke. He taught Alvin Harris how to paint shorebird decoys.

Original paint, tight crack to the tip of the nose where the nail is inserted.
