Meiji period (1868-1912), includes three separate bronze cast sculptures, one of a female ox, one of a male ox, and a baby ox, all cast with realistic details to body, mane, and horns, the female has a seal to the underside of her belly, the male has a raised signature in relief to the underside of his belly, the baby is unmarked.

10 x 15 x 5 1/4 in.; 9 x 15 x 7 in.; 4 1/2 x 8 x 3 in.

The Ox is an auspicious animal in Japanese culture, as well as being used for transport and farming it is one of the twelve animals of the zodiac, symbolizing strength and perseverance.

Overall very good estate condition; baby ox has a repair to his lower back leg.
