Purchased directly from Purnell Curles in June, 1991.
Purnell Curles was born and raised on Churches Island and made a living by hunting and fishing the Currituck land. In the early 1930s he joined the Coast Guard and was stationed in Montauk, New York. It was there that he probably made this fine goose in the Churches Island style.
