Circa 1900, red silk ground embroidered with metallic and polychrome silk thread, the first decorated with a couple to the top portion, the female holding an arrow, the male riding a horse, both with painted faces and hands on silk sewn onto the panel, the lower portion with deer, peonies and bamboo and above a bat in shaped medallion, the second decorated with a couple to the top portion, the female playing an instrument, the male figure standing by a horse, plum blossoms bloom above them, the lower portion with squirrels and gourds and above a bat in a shaped medallion, red lining to reverse of both. These chair covers would have been used during a wedding celebration for the bride and groom.

Some looses threads; some bleeding of red pigment onto silk threads; some loss to beadwork; some loose stitching; some loss to small metal pieces sewn on; some staining to reverse side lining.
