Ming dynasty, probably Wanli period, early 17th century, porcelain saucer dish hand painted in underglaze blue with auspicious treasures and pearls in double ringed medallions, the central scene has a grasshopper seated on a rock with flora and grasses surrounding it, underside is glazed with thick pitted white and kiln grit to foot rim edges.


1 1/4 in., 6 in. diameter

Good estate condition; glaze has yellow to exterior, perhaps restoration; some nicks and fritting to rim perhaps from a previous rim cover fitting.
