Late 18th-early 19th century, carved wood with gesso and gilt, hand-painted main dial behind glass, signed to center "Rennovato, Anno. (13?)/ Par Baserga / Opti../ in Besancon" and to lower dial "Par Monty et Baserga," over a framed thermometer with worn inscriptions, fluted pediment with bird in repose, acorn and oak leaf swag, and fluted apron.

Scattered cracks, some with associated repair and restoration; some later gilt; lacking mercury tubing and cover to verso; dial hands loose.
