Some of the Swan Island Club decoys probably landed in North Carolina in 1872 when a group of sportsmen sailing from New York were beached in the Currituck Sound. These northern sportsmen were aboard the sailing yacht Anonyona which went aground near Crow Island. The Swan Island Club was soon built and became a famous hunting club for wealthy New Yorkers.

Old gunning paint, age checks in the body and head, old filler used to fill rigging hole at breast.
