Paris, late 18th century, lid and underside with 1783 Maison Commune crowned U mark, entwined snake tax mark, and charge mark, of oval form with Neoclassical floral garland decoration, scrolled stiles over paw feet, between pierced berry motif double handles, the fluted lid crowned with three berry finial, includes removable cobalt glass liner, without monogram.
