Salvo, North Carolina, circa 1910, carved and painted wood, nail bill, wire legs, mounted on wood base, base signed "Yellowlegs by St Clair Midgett".

Height 17 in.

It is not known if St Clair Midgett actually made this shorebird decoy as there are no other known examples. It is known that St Clair Midgett did provide shorebird hunting services to northern clients and northern shorebirds were found in his rig. This decoy is carved in the southern Dare County style and could have been from his hand.

Original paint with moderate gunning wear, hit by shot, oxidation to metal elements.
