Ronnie spent his life on Knotts Island as a waterman, with the exception of four years spend serving in the Marines. His knowledge and appreciation for carving came from the local craftsmen, who mentored Ronnie and became life long friends. In his golden years, Ronnie served as a guide at the Swan Island Club. Ronnie Wade and his work are North Carolina treasures.
