Lambert Morris was from the small fishing village of Atlantic, North Carolina. He loved working the water of Core Sound but attended Trinity College (now Duke University) and Law School. His law practice would eventually lead him back to Carteret County as a judge. The love of working the water never left him. He made several different stands of beach robin decoys mostly influenced by Alvin Harris. This decoy was made in the 1950s and a rig mate was found in the collection of Bill Mackey and retains his collecting brand, rig mate also published on page 89 of Shorebird Decoys of North Carolina by Kroghie Andresen and Philip Harvey.
