Elmer Crowell is highly regarded as the finest carver to ever craft a decoy. He supplied numerous decoys to the Swan Island Club. Tilford Wade was known to gift decoys to important clients but try to get them back once he learned that the decoy might have some collectible value. This decoy was one of his successful attempts.
