Two Japanese Silk Uchikake Wedding Kimonos

20th century, includes two uchikake, the first with ivory silk ground embroidered with silver metallic arches, large floral blossoms in reddish orange and pale yellow, green leaves, a circular temple pagoda and on the back a large phoenix with its tail feathers extending onto the front of the kimono, the second with ivory silk ground embroidered in polychrome silk and metallic threads with turquoise birds and peach colored peacocks amidst pink leaves and aqua blue pine branches, both kimonos are lined in red, these robes were meant to be worn as an outer coat during a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony.

Overall excellent condition; some light stains or discoloration to front panel and near edges of sleeves; some loose threads to sleeves and at hem.
