20th century, includes two uchikake kimonos, the first with ivory silk ground embroidered in metallic thread with red crest cranes, plum blossoms and bamboo, interior with red lining, and the second with metallic brocade ground having a hexagonal pattern, embroidered in silk and metallic thread with large vivid flowers on leafy vines, interior with persimmon colored lining, these robes were meant to be worn as an outer coat during a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony.

Overall very good condition; the crane kimono has some light staining and discoloration to front panel and edges of sleeves and near bottom hem.
