20th century, red lacquer painted in black, blue and gilt with auspicious Chinese motifs such as dragons, pairs of fish, longevity symbols, and Buddhist Treasure motifs, the largest a hexagonal shape, the interior divided for sweetmeat containers to be inserted, raised on shaped feet (6 1/2 x 21 x 18 in.), the smaller box is circular in shape with radiating petal design, interior has nine sweetmeat lacquer containers (4 in., 11 3/4 in. diameter).
