This turn of the century oversized hardwood curlew decoy is extremely well made. Aaron Hooper had access to Gull Shoal Island and from the 1890s to the 1950s, this island was the mecca for shorebird hunting on the southern stretch of the Outer Banks. Aaron owned the closest boat landing to this hunting grounds.
