19th or 20th century, ink, colors, and gilt on fabric, very finely painted with many wonderful details, Hvashang, the Patron of Arhats, is seated by a lacquered table with ritual elements, small children or men climb on the table with his shoes, also in tree above, and in landscape below, a priest is featured in the lower left corner with attendants performing a ritual over two tables, blooming floral trees above, two Buddhist figures in radiating medallions to upper corners, Amitabha to right and Sakyamuni Buddha to the left, red painted border surrounded by three silk fabric borders, professionally framed under glass.

A similar earlier 18th-century painting of Arhat Hvashang is in the collection of the Rubin Museum of Art, (C2006.66.175)

Overall good condition; some staining to Hvashang figure and to upper corner; some dirt to surface; some stains and and a tear to the yellow silk border; some very light creases.
