Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 18th or 19th century, carved cinnabar lacquer boxes with domed covers decorated with Chinese immortal figures, one seated in a boat holding a ruyi scepter and the other carrying a vase and accompanied by a deer, each with two boy attendants, in landscapes of pine, paulownia trees and large boulders, within auspicious motif borders of bats and peaches and flora, surrounded by geometric floral pattern honeycomb ground, the bases decorated the same ground and a key border at the foot, black lacquer to interior and underside of each.

Each 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 5 in.

Overall very good condition; both boxes with hairlines to lacquer on interior of covers; very slight minor nicks to interior rim of both boxes; one cover with slight hairline to where peach dimples.
