The Elizabeth City Foundary was the source for most of North Carolina iron sinkbox decoys. Originally called the Sanders Foundry, it was founded in the early 1880s by Joseph Sanders. This decoy was cast in the manner of a redhead from the Mason Factory in Detroit, Michigan.
