Mark of Pedro Duran, with "Z II" Dutch import marks, second half of 20th century, paw footed case with mixed wood parquetry inlay, the lid having .835 silver armorial shield mount flanked by knight's helmets at corners, lid verso inlayed as a playing board, lifts to a divided red velvet interior fitted with (32) weighted .835 silver playing pieces modeled as a Medieval court, half are silver gilt. Without monograms.

4 1/4 x 19 1/2 x 19 1/2 in. (case); 3 1/4 in. (King)

Case with some scattered marks and surface scuffs; some general minor wear to upholstered interior; some varnish cracks primarily to chess board; some chess piece undersides with missing or detached velvet.
