Eastern Shore Virginia, circa 1900, carved and painted wood, iron bill.

Length 8.5 in.

A very well carved decoy, the body is 2 in. thick with relief carved tail, iron bill is almost 3 in. from the face.

Original paint with moderate gunning wear, hit by shot on left side, corrosion to iron bill.
