20th century, the first a soapstone caligraphy wash pot featuring two vasiform wells for water and ink and central floral and bird decoration on a naturalistic base (6 x 8 x 5 in.); the second a spinach green and natural toned hardstone sculpture of birds in a tree, presented on a fitted reticulated form carved wood base (10 3/4 in., with stand). The first with a large loss to right well, several areas of cracking with some loose pieces, and scattered surface wear; the second in good estate condition.
