Meiji period (1868-1912), a double-sided accordion fold album, one side mounted with a rare complete set of the 1893 series "Selection of Thirty-six Beauties (Sanjurokkasen)" by Mizuno Toshikata (1866-1908), published by Akiyama Buemon, which includes the title page and table of contents, and to the reverse side of the accordion album are mounted twelve triptychs and one diptych by Yoshu Chikanobu (1838-1912).

Album 14 x 9 1/2 x 1 1/2 in.

Estate of Walter Pugh, Raleigh, North Carolina

Comes together with a Certificate of Antiquity from the Uchida Woodblock Prints Co., Ltd., Kyoto dated to May 14, 1964.

Very good impressions and color; scattered light foxing to some prints; outside cover with some wear.
