The smaller, It Happened in the Garden, woodcut with color, pencil signed and titled at lower margin, matted and framed under glass; the larger Reflection II: USDA, woodcut in black and white, 1999, signed, dated, titled, and numbered 3/25 at lower margin, matted and framed.

The smaller: Sheet size 14 3/4 x 11 1/4 in., Frame dimensions 20 1/4 x 16 1/4 in.; The larger: Sheet Sheet size 25 1/4 x 19 3/4 in., Frame dimensions 34 1/2 x 28 3/4 in.

Dennis Winston is a graduate of Norfolk State University and the University of Richmond and has done post-graduate work at the University of Colorado and Virginia Commonwealth University. He has served on the faculties of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia State University and the Governor’s School of South Carolina. He retired as the Coordinator of Arts Education and the Humanities Center for the Richmond Public Schools.

Winston’s work can be found in many private and public collections including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the University of Virginia Medical Center, Apex Museum of African American Art, Lynchburg College Museum, Indiana University Museum of PA., University of Richmond Museum, National Civil Rights Museum, Medical College of Virginia, Bowie State University, Museum of African American Art of Dallas.

Both in good estate condition, the first with minor waviness to paper; not examined out of frames.
