Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century, two part form, black lacquer with painted gilt highlights of a scenic mountain landscape to the front two hinged doors, the sides and interior painted in gold with family crest (mon), gilt and etched bronze hardware decorates chest with same family crest (mon), interior of cabinet is fitted with five drawers, cabinet rests on a cabriole leg stand with short bracket foot base.
