B&w photolithographs, "Marilyn Monroe - Black Sitting" images from Feb. 1956, both signed by Milton Greene in pencil lower right, numbered in pencil lower left, the first numbered 56/300, the second numbered 271/300, unframed.

The first, DOA 31 x 42 in.; the second, image size. 40 x 30 in.; sheet size 45 x 35 in.


Milton Greene worked as a fashion photographer early in his career and then became well known for his portraits of celebrities. He was close friends with Monroe in the 1950s and even produced some of her movies.


The first with light scuffs and soft creases to composition, overall toning, (2) large creases from being folded in thirds, small tears, folds, stains, and losses at margins, (3) 1 1/4 - 2 in. tears from margins into composition, marks to verso. The second with creasing and light marks on image, margins with offsetting, toning, creasing, light grime, and small tears, (1) large 1 5/8 in. tear in margin, verso with marks, tape, and areas of damage from tape removal.
