Winchester grain density scales were an antique market-day tool used by farmers and merchants to determine the moisture content and yield per acre of various grains. Prior to 1650, the market town of Winchester, England approved a system of standardized weights and measures as pints, quarts, pecks, bushels, etc. recognized in America.

Overall good estate condition; some spotting and light verdigris to brass; some surface rubbing commensurate with age and use.
