A Tibetan Thangka of Shakyamuni Buddha

18th or 19th century, pigments and gold on cloth, central image of Shakyamuni Buddha seated holding a bowl, a mandorla behind, rainbow vertical banners amidst clouds and floral blooms, seated Buddhist figures surround the central image, framed under glass, the reverse side is left open so you can see back of painting exposed, there is a prayer inscription written to the center.

Frame dimensions 50 3/4 x 32 in., Image size 25 1/4 x 19 in.
