18th or 19th century, Bhutan or Tibet, pigments and gold on cloth, colors are very vivid and possible mineral pigments, an unusual composition with Shakyamuni Buddha standing in the center with a golden bridge leading up to a dwelling with Amitabha Buddha seated, below are worshippers and deities, there are white stupas dotting the landscape, swirling clouds and Buddhist treasure symbols are seen throughout, framed under glass, the reverse side is left open so you can see back of painting exposed.
