From the Personal Collection of Mr. Kroghie Andresen, Charlotte, North Carolina

Former collection of Pat Geer, leader with the Nature Conservancy in North Carolina.

Alvirah Wright is widely considered one of North Carolina's finest makers. Family members estimate he made between 300 and 500 decoys and sold them commercially for fifty cents each. His decoys are considered the finest sculptural decoys from North Carolina. This example has an attractive patina and an old iron rod ballast placed into a carved channel.

Mostly original paint with moderate gunning wear, age checks on left side, hit by shot.
