From the Personal Collection of Mr. Kroghie Andresen, Charlotte, North Carolina

Pharoah Midgett was born and raised in the small community of South Rodanthe, which would later be named Salvo. He market hunted the reefs out in the sound. None of his duck decoys survived. For over fifty years, he had an affinity for hunting shorebirds. He carved several stand of shorebird decoys which primarily consisted of dowitchers and yellowlegs. This leaning dowitcher gives it a feeding pose.

Original paint with light gunning wear, hit by shot.
