Some of the Swan Island Club decoys probably landed in North Carolina in 1872 when a group of sportsmen sailing from New York were beached in the Currituck Sound. These northern sportsmen were aboard the sailing yacht Anonyona which went aground near Crow Island. The Swan Island Club was soon built and became a famous hunting club for wealthy New Yorkers. James Morris was an original member of the club and resigned in 1895. J. Olney Norris was a member from 1895 until his death in 1912. Harold Keith became a member in 1919. Maitland R Wade was a guide at the club.

Old gunning paint, head is loose but stable, left glass eye missing, age check in top and bottom.
