Early 20th century, one part parcel-gilt carved wood forms, in traditional guardian style featuring a muscular body and face having a fierce expression, open mouth sharing sharp teeth, curly eyebrows and mane, the female lion has a front paw over a baby lion, the male lion has his front paw over a ball, both raised on ebonized pedestal bases with relief carved lotus blossom and scrolled detail.


Each 16 1/2 x 6 x 9 1/2 in.
