Meiji period (1868-1912), an elegant vase with slender neck and cast with a well articlated turtle swimming through water, signed 一政 (Issei) to underside.

Hasegawa Issei (art name Gyokutosai ) worked in Asakusa Tokyo during the Meiji era , he exhibited at the Chicago World's Columbian Exposition (1893), Liège exposition (1905) – a crystal ball on a metal base, and at the Paris exposition (1900) exhibiting a silver vase, incense burner and bird subject okimono.

A clear substance around the interior foot rim; a slight nick to foot rim; some spot of discoloration below turtle.
