John Lupton began making canvas decoys with Harry Hamilton, his neighbor and life-long friend. He used thick juniper boards and the juniper heads were finished with a rasp. Many of the ribs were made with copper wire from old telegraph lines. A rig mate to this decoy is published on pages 124-125 of Carteret Waterfowl Heritage by Jack Dudley.

Original paint with wear to canvas on the edges, broken bill has been reset.
