Includes a teapot topped with a dolphin finial (10 in.), creamer (7 in.), and large waste bowl (5 1/2 x 7 1/4 x 5 1/4 in.); each with bright-cut engraved borders featuring crescent moons, floral motifs, and acorns; a central cartouche to each side, raised on a rectangular pedestal base with four ball feet, having an "AWW" monogram within the cartouche at one side.

Joseph Lownes was born in 1758 and was active in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1780 an after. He entered a partnership as Lownes & Erwin circa 1816, and with his brother as J & J.H. Lownes from 1816-1819. He passed away in 1820.
