Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, porcelain with mirror black glaze and hand painted in gold with large shaped reserves containing Buddhist and scholar motifs surrounding an archaic vase with peacock feathers to one side, and Ming style vase with large peony bloom to the other, scrolling tendrils and lotus blossoms decorate the ground between upper and lower borders, dark brown glaze below rim.
