Circa 1900, this bronze vase is finely cast with grapevines encircles the upper neck under a key motif border, the body with graceful phoenixes outstretched over swirling clouds, below long tailed turtles rest above waves on the tall foot, unusual Ming seal script mark to underside may indicate it was made in Taiwan under Japanese occupation after 1895.
