Gabriele Mucchi (Italian, 1899-2002) was a painter, architect, furniture designer, and illustrator who worked primarily in Milan. This book reproduces the line drawings he made in 1943 as illustrations for the famous 19th-century Italian novel, I Promessi Sposi by Alessandro Manzoni.

Wear, scuffs, light staining, and toning to glassine, corners and head and tail of spine rubbed resulting in small losses to glassine, front cover slightly warped; pages mildly toned with occasional light scuff or mark, otherwise pages clean and crisp. An overall very good copy of this scarce book.
