This is one of the early beach robin decoys that Alvin Harris carved as a boy living on Portsmouth Island in 1912. It originally had twisted double wire legs and later had a center hole drilled with a stake. A rig mate of published on pages 95 and 96 of Shorebird Decoys of North Carolina by Kroghie Andresen and Philip Harvey.
