Republic period (1912-1949), very finely painted in grisaille with two figures out in nature, a sage seated holding his staff looking out at the animated waves crashing on the rocks, his assistant tending the fire by a cliff, a large knotted pine tree graciously sweeps over the scene from the cliffside, inscription to upper left side together with red seal.
