Edo period (1615-1868), four section carved wood sculpture of the Buddha Sakyamuni standing on a double lotus blossom pedestal over an octagonal base, a tall reticulated pointed auerole rises up behind Shakyamuni with a radiating lotus blossom centered right behind his head, he stands in flowing robes with his hand raised in a welcoming mudra, scattered remains of pigments and gold paint to wood surface.
