Meiji period (1868-1912), a bulbous vase with very finely painted scenes of Japanese figures in large reserves, surrounded by dark sapphire blue ground with honeycomb and floral decoration in gilt, signed to underside 大日本錦光山製 (dai nihon kinkozan zo) "made in Great Japan by Kinkozan, comes together with a raised carved wooden stand.
